Additionally, it offers advice for those thinking about making a charitable contribution to Cancer Research UK. The service is now offered at Onions & Davies, where our private client team can provide Will writing assistance to individuals and families in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Worcestershire, Birmingham, and the Black Country and beyond.
Funding Cancer Research
Cancer Research UK depends heavily on donations left in wills because the organisation does not receive any funding from the government for its research. By leaving a legacy to the charity, supporters fund more than a third of the charity’s cancer research into cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
A legacy gift refers to any asset specified in a person’s will that they want to leave behind. While money is typically the most common asset left as a legacy gift, it can also include other valuable items like property or an heirloom. If you leave your legacy gift to Cancer Research UK, you can earmark your contribution to local research efforts or specific cancer research.
A network of solicitors has run the Free Will Service in the UK for more than 20 years. Though it is not obligatory, it is hoped that anyone using this service contemplates making a legacy gift to Cancer Research UK.
