At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them.
The Armistice (Latin for to stand still), which was simply an agreement to end the fighting of WW1, and a prelude to the negotiations for peace, began at 11am on 11th November 1918.
At 11am on Monday 11th November 2024, Armistice Day will be marked around the United Kingdom with a two-minute silence, and we, at Onions & Davies, will be marking this occasion, as we do every year, to remember all those who gave their lives in service to their country since 1914.
We will be laying our wreath at the War Memorial, in Market Drayton, as our Act of Remembrance.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
