This January, Rightmove is reporting the largest monthly rise ever recorded at this time of year, with 2.3% surge in the price of property being listed for sale, and claiming that the housing market is ‘springing into life’. The full report can be seen here.
What could this mean for home movers?
It spells potential good news for sellers with the reported ‘all-time highs’ for property prices.
Enquiries to estate agents are up, as are new instructions, compared to the same period a year ago.
Rightmove’s property expert states “For those who can afford to move and have been putting it off, now would appear to be a good time to get a view from a local estate agent on their property’s value and a mortgage quote for the great fixed-rate deals that are currently available.”
How can we help?
Onions & Davies Ltd is one of the most well-established solicitors practices in the region, combining good values with modern practices to ensure a quick and efficient property transaction.
David Williams is Director & Head of Property, and shares his view on the changes afoot for the market:
‘Recent times have seen homeowners and homemovers being nervous about making decisions about property pending the general election, and amidst an unsettled political environment. It helps that the Brexit issues appear to be resolved at this time and, with a stable government elected, I predict that the public may have more confidence to implement the plans they may have previously put on hold. We are ready and able to provide a competitively priced and quality conveyancing service for those taking that step in 2020.’
