Sarah McDermott is a dedicated member of the Private Client Department at Onions & Davies Solicitors. She serves as a Private Client Paralegal and holds the additional role of Charity Fundraising Liaison, where she plays a vital role in managing and running our bi-annual Charity Wills Campaigns and supporting Onions & Davies’ chosen charity each year: for 2023, it is the incredible local charity Dougie Mac.

Education and Experience

Sarah has been a valuable member of Onions & Davies Solicitors for ten years, a milestone happily celebrated, contributing her skills and dedication to the firm.

Sarah’s journey in the legal field began as a legal secretary in the Residential Conveyancing and Private Client departments at Salmons Solicitors in Stoke on Trent. She later became a legal secretary specialising in Private Client matters with Lichfield Reynolds, completing her Legal Secretary certificate and advanced diploma in Private Client law.

Sarah joined Onions & Davies in 2013 and has developed her career further by completing her Paralegal studies in 2019, specialising in Private Client law, demonstrating her dedication to excellence in her field. Sarah is an experienced Private Client Paralegal known for her skill and knowledge in Private Client work. She is recognised for her empathetic and understanding approach when working with clients, taking pride in assisting clients with their legal needs and ensuring they receive the support and guidance they require. Clients regularly comment on Sarah’s friendly and personable handling of their matter.

Charity Fundraising Liaison

In addition to her legal responsibilities, Sarah takes on the role of Charity Fundraising Liaison. She is integral in the success of Onions & Davies’ Charity Wills Campaign which takes place at least twice a year, and which enables clients to make a Will with Onions & Davies Solicitors in return for a donation to the charity.  Onions & Davies also champion one local charity each year and fundraise to support the work they do. For 2023, Onions & Davies Solicitors has chosen the remarkable Dougie Mac as its charity, and Sarah plays a pivotal role in supporting fundraising efforts for this cause. Previously, Onions & Davies have supported the wonderful work carried out by Severn Hospice.

Sarah likes to keep appraised of local events, including in the Armed Forces Community, and in respect of local matters that may be of interest to her clients. She demonstrates a keenness to support her local community and her involvement in charity fundraising reflects her commitment to giving back to the community, aligning with the firm’s values of compassion and service.

Personal Interests

Outside of her professional life, Sarah enjoys quality time with her family and embarking on memorable days out. She is also a talented and prolific baker!
